When formulating deficit policy, no single initiative offers an economically sufficient and politically feasible solution.  Thus, Project 2030 advocates a series of proposals that reconciles economic solutions with political limitations. Our primary objective is to increase public awareness, as we believe this goal will then force politicians to address the issue using the following techniques. There will need to be a combination of both reduced benefits and increased revenue, although this need not be drastic. To make sure that the additional revenue is not used for increased government spending, we advocate the creation of a safe account protecting entitlement program revenues. Last, by restructuring our economy to brace for the impending generational imbalance and improving economic efficiencies, the United States will successfully be able to reduce the long-term budget deficit while helping to sustain long-term economic growth.
