Inma Lopez, Susan Kerr and I have done
some investigation into musculoskeletal stress markers. These are most likely
the result of physical activity straining muscles and causing bony growth. We
collected data on the long bones of prehistoric Chumash peoples from the Santa
Barbara Channel Islands in order to make temporal comparisons and to see the
differences between the islands that are more populated and more accesible from
the mainland and those that are less so. When we have results we'll let you
know....
