Some thoughts on the Fueginos
The ancient people of Tierra del Fuego lived and flourished in one of the harshest environments in the world. However, upon the arrival of the Spanish in the area they were Missionized and suffered some of the same consequences seen in Missionized native populations throughout the world. I have examined a small sample from this time period to look at health under the Mission system and hope to do a cross-cultural comparison with this data!
