ILE D'ORLEANS

After a week of studying the history of New France and the culture of Quebec City, it will be time to take a break and enjoy the unparalleled natural beauty of the province. We will begin by visiting the Chutes Montmorency, the tallest waterfall in North American, and the the small St. Lawrence Seaway island of Ile d'Orleans. Historically, the granary of New France, the Ile d'Orleans was home to the farmers, vintners, sailors, and craftsmen who supplied Quebec City and the province more generally with agricultural and artisanal products.
